New business models, greater efficiency and higher customer satisfaction – companies are finding creative ways to accelerate process automation using the Internet of Things (IoT). Implementing IoT projects in a quick and flexible manner is a decisive competitive advantage. However, success also depends on the ability to quickly and easily connect a large number of mobile devices. A campus network is a closed mobile network implemented at your premises, ensuring full mobility, rapid data transfers with minimum latency and guaranteed high bandwidth availability for a large number of mobile devices. As well as optimum connectivity for your vital IoT applications, a campus network offers a flexible and scalable infrastructure for your employees to turn their automation ideas into reality in a quick and uncomplicated manner.
What is a campus network and how does it work?
A campus network is a tailor-made mobile network at your site that guarantees optimum connectivity for your IoT devices.

Using its own antennas, a campus network at your site can establish an individual mobile network in line with the 4G/LTE or 5G standard. In general, the network comprises a private section (blue) with a separate data connection for your critical IoT devices, such as industrial robots, automated guided vehicles, cameras or connected sensors for predictive maintenance. Via the Deutsche Telekom cloud platform, these devices can easily be connected to a local data centre or a cloud application. Only authorised devices can access this private network. In addition to the private network, there is also a public section (magenta) that employees, customers and suppliers can access via their tablets and smartphones without any restrictions to enjoy optimum reception.
Diverse opportunities for your company
