Reliable production information
Keep an automated eye on your machines and receive reliable real-time information about their status with the comprehensive package: Industrial Machine Monitoring (IMM). The solution is easy to set up and use for transmitting machine data.
IMM enables the networking of machines and devices using industrial protocols like Modbus RTU. A machine’s status is sent to the Cloud of Things, Telekom’s IoT platform, via a gateway that comes included in the package.
The transmission interval of the gateway can be set individually. And there’s up to a gigabyte of database storage available per machine, so measurement data can be monitored over a longer period of time. All data can be visualized in a dashboard and existing IT systems or third-party applications can be integrated via an API.
Your benefits from Industrial Machine Monitoring in overview
Easy introduction to IoT
Industrial Machine Monitoring provides companies an easy introduction to the Internet of Things – without any programming necessary. Existing machines can be affordably retrofitted with sensors in order to transmit critical machine data securely and reliably to the Cloud of Things IoT platform.
Preconfigured and ready to use
This solution can be used immediately and easily fitted to any machine or system. It works with wireless standards from 2G to NB-IoT, as well as landline or WiFi connections. It also supports all common machine protocols (currently Modbus and OPC UA, soon also Profibus and CAN-Bus).
Visualization of machine data
A machine’s status is available at all times and easy to visualize. This enables a direct look at critical machine data. Remote monitoring of error codes makes it possible to recognizes problems early – lowering maintenance costs while boosting a machine’s long-term availability and operating life.
The data is stored at Deutsche Telekom’s highly secure data centers that must comply with the strict requirements of Europe’s data protection laws (GDPR).
Application examples for each sector
The Cloud of Things in overview
The Cloud of Things is an IoT platform from Telekom that is quick and easy to use. Developers can rapidly connect their devices and evaluate the data. This video shows what possibilities the platform offers and introduces a few customers already effectively using the Cloud of Things.
Machine monitoring in practice
Using a fictive production line, Telekom demonstrated at the Hannover Messe trade fair in 2018 the potential of digital industrial solutions, especially condition monitoring, smart monitoring and predictive maintenance.
From the steam engine to the digital factory
Deutsche Telekom presented a model steam engine at the Hannover Messe trade fair in 2018 to show how older machines can also be digitalized. This proved almost anything can be retrofit with sensors to enable smart monitoring and anomaly detection.
