Hoffmann + Krippner help breweries make their production more efficient
The manufacturer of innovative data entry systems and touchscreens is developing a digital beermat, which will provide breweries with detailed insights as to what beer drinkers consume.

The HK Group was looking for a universal IoT mobile solution to connect its products without the customer needing to perform complex installation and configuration tasks. Amongst other ideas, subsidiary ROBIOTIC GmbH wanted to develop an intelligent beermat that works anywhere.
The “smart coaster” is equipped with a SIM card and a film sensor that records the weight of a glass, enabling the fill level to be determined. The data is sent to the IoT cloud using the NB IoT mobile standard. There, it is processed and made available to beverage manufacturers and restaurateurs.
The manufacturers now receive precise information on the consumption of their beverages. This allows them to analyse whether special promotions or advertising measures are working. Customers do not have to install anything on site, as the devices automatically connect to the mobile network – also abroad – and are immediately ready for use. A true plug-and-play solution.
