Pooling models are ideal for larger fleets using M2M SIM or embedded SIM solutions, as they allow data to be distributed flexibly between devices and costs to be managed efficiently.

The business tariff family differs primarily in terms of data volume, contract term, flexibility and scope of services for IoT devices and M2M communication.

It includes preconfigured standard tariffs for quick project launches as well as customised enterprise tariffs for complex international rollouts using M2M SIM, embedded SIM (eSIM) or a global IoT SIM card. Depending on requirements, functions such as data pooling, cost control, international use or customised service level agreements can be integrated.

IoT Business LPWA is designed for devices with very low data requirements (maximum 250 Kbits/s), such as smart metering or level sensors.

The tariff is based on Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), a technology with a long range and low energy consumption. Since IoT devices and LPWA-based M2M communication usually only send small amounts of status or measurement data, a low data volume is sufficient – enabling cost-efficient IoT deployments with M2M SIM or embedded SIM solutions.

Telekom's IoT tariffs enable you to operate your devices worldwide via our own networks in the USA, Germany and 10 other European countries, or hold stakes in them. In addition, with our more than 600 selected roaming partners, we enable worldwide access to data connections (data roaming).

A comprehensive coverage zone spanning over 32 countries is available within Europe. Additional country groups can be added flexibly. Connectivity is also guaranteed outside these zones through international roaming agreements.

All IoT tariffs include Best Coverage. If the Telekom network is unavailable in Germany, your IoT devices can also access the networks of other providers. We also have several roaming partners in most countries worldwide. This means we can always ensure the best connection for your IoT project.

All IoT SIM cards – including M2M SIM and embedded SIM solutions – are protected by strong encryption and authentication mechanisms. Data centres and systems are subject to regular security and privacy assessments. In addition, we actively monitor the use of your IoT SIM cards on request. As part of our security solutions, we offer a fraud detection service that identifies unusual activity at an early stage – for example, if a device logs in from an unexpected country – and informs you immediately.
