The manufacturer is installing NFC chips in all its window frames. Retailers and end customers can use a smartphone app to scan the chips and access information on dimensions, certificates and maintenance instructions online.

A defective compressor increases the electricity costs of a pressurised air system or can even shut down the entire operation. Petko therefore searched for a solution to improve maintenance and repair customer devices more quickly.

Solution

The compressors are now connected to the Cloud of Things from Deutsche Telekom and are equipped with a SMARTbox from PSsystec. These two systems monitor the machines in real time. The data is visually prepared in a customer-specific web portal.

To determine the loads on sheet piling, engineers on site must check locally recorded measurement data. This approach takes time, while strict schedules must be adhered to and require the perfect interplay between IT, construction site management and the engineers.

Solution


Solution

A particularly robust IoT device now transmits the data from the load cells, via the Telekom LTE mobile network, to the Bauer AG online cloud. There, the IoT device derives threshold and limit values for the load cell data and can trigger alarms in real time if required.

RUD products are used in extreme conditions and locations, such as for ash removal in coal-fired power plants. Until now, users had to rely on their instinct when deciding on the right time to maintain and replace the chains. Status checks were performed via a simple traffic light system directly on the production line, for example.

Solution

Within the scope of the IoT solution, conveyor systems were equipped with IoT devices. Using GSM, the measurement values recorded by the installed sensors are encrypted and transmitted to the secure Cloud of Things back end at Deutsche Telekom. RUD customers can access their system data via a dashboard and can view analyses and status reports at the touch of a button.

The world market leader GlasGo coats up to 200,000 glasses each day. The glasses are placed in kilns which reach temperatures of between 130 and 170 degrees Celsius to ensure the coatings adhere to the surface properly. If the temperature is lower, the coating does not adhere correctly. In the event that customers complain of damage several months after production, GlasGo must be able to determine whether an error occurred during the coating process.

Solution


Solution

IoT sensors continuously measure the temperature in the kilns. These sensors are connected to an IoT gateway that converts the sensor data into usable IoT data. The gateway then uses the NarrowBand IoT (NB-IoT) mobile network to send this data to the Cloud of Things (CoT) at a Deutsche Telekom data centre. The data is then evaluated in real time in the CoT.

The IoT solution provides the shift supervisor with a constant overview of the temperatures in all kilns and notifies users immediately in the event of any deviations. This process enables GlasGo to ensure that its coated glasses consistently meet the high quality standards. If a customer now complains about the quality of a batch, the manufacturer can check the delivery for possible production errors, even months later.
