Whats does Servitization mean?

Servitization opens up new opportunities and refers to a process in which companies enhance their traditional product offerings with additional services, thereby creating hybrid product-service systems. This approach transforms a company’s business model from being solely a product seller to becoming a provider of comprehensive solutions.

New business models through digital networking

Smart Connected Product Animation

From predictive maintenance with the Internet of Things to usage-based business models – servitization enables companies to go beyond traditional products and develop sustainable, future-proof business strategies.

These smart connected products come with a multitude of advantages:

  • Better understanding of customer needs through data usage
  • Stronger customer loyalty
  • Value-added digital services that differentiate them from competitors' offerings
  • Regular, recurring revenue

New: With our Embedded Basic Connectivity, it has never been easier to connect products! Thanks to our reasonable module prices, you can equip your products with connectivity ex works and activate the connection as soon as your business model requires it. This is how we open up all the possibilities of servitization for you.

What goals do you want to achieve through servitization?

There are two ways to network your products

Connectivity is the prerequisite for a servitization business model with physical products. There are two ways to establish this: On the one hand, it can be considered during the planning stage and integrated into the product – this variant is called "embedded". On the other hand, an existing product can be retrofitted with networking – this is called "retrofit".

Embedded – connected from the very start

  • Products that are in development

  • Development costs for networking ex works

  • Unrestricted power supply, as the device source can be used

  • Unrestricted power supply allows for the free choice of mobile network (LTE-M, NB-IoT)

  • Robust, as it is firmly integrated and soldered

  • New: also possible as Embedded Basic Connectivity with particularly affordable networking hardware (competitive with WiFi) thanks to our cooperation with established partners

Retrofit – subsequently connected

  • Products that are already on the market

  • Development costs are low, as existing networking hardware can be used

  • Power supply stems mostly from rechargeable batteries that need to be topped up regularly

  • Rechargeable batteries make energy-efficient mobile networks such as NB-IoT or LTE-M the first choice

  • Less robust, as hardware is retrofitted
